A woman I am, I feel so proud
The finest creature ,I say it aloud
It's she who brings life on earth
Adds colour to it, adds joy and mirth
It's she who makes the house a home
Be it london, Delhi, be it Paris or Rome
She is delicate and soft and is equally strong
Shows endurance and patience when things go wrong
She can excel in every domain, be it earth or the sky
Has firm feet on earth and has wings too to fly
sings a sweet lullaby when needed ,can be loud
She truly deserves respect, without any doubt.

My Heart Aches

My heart aches whenever I see
The humanity dying here and there
We have become today so self obsessed
We don't even bother to stop and take care

An accident victim looks towards us
With pain and a plea in his eye
`We take a glimpse, heave a deep sigh
Give a deaf ear to his cry and pass by.

My heart aches when I hear about
female foeticide every now and then
I wonder how one can imagine a world
which has no women but only men.

Though I am at my fifties yet there is a small child inside me 
who is a little naughty ,restless and carefree
yes, there is a small child inside me

who often gets scared whenever there is a thunder 
who at times goes careless and makes a big blunder
who cannot fight for a long and soon tends to surrender
who cries over sorrows whose heart is soft and tender 
who loves to build sand castles on the shores of the sea
yes ,there is a small child inside me

who is a little stubborn and willful like a brat
who settles the issues instantly and believes in tit for tat
who soon gets annoyed and soon turns to be glad
who is hungry for praise and always wants a pat
who cannot sit idle whose mind is never free.

Often I see across the clouds,
some faces vivid and clear 
they give a glimpse, light up my eyes 
and soon they all disappear
The faces of all my loved ones 
who were very close to my heart
but God's will ,He wanted them there 
So they all had to depart.

Often I hear in the air ,in the aura
some voices that give me delight 
They speak to me, they answer me back
And suddenly they all are quiet.
The voices of all my dear ones,
who were always there as my guide 
But they all had to abandon me
As the destiny showed its darker side
